Gibson ES-175

The following pictures are related to sale of a Gibson ES-175 guitar.

 

Details 1954 Gibson ES-175. Serial Number: A17911. Label can be seen through one of the f-holes; label identifies Kalamazoo, MI. Rare natural finish (only 1 in 3 were natural I've been told). 16 14" wide. Venetian (pointed) cutaway. 2 knobs. Trapeze tailpiece with pointed ends and 3 raised parallelograms. Single black P-90 in neck position. Laminated beveled-edge pickguard. Triple bound top. Single bound back & fingerboard. Double prallelogram inlay on neck. Crown inlay on peghead.

Condition

Peghead Front:

• Slight edge-wear
• Fine horizontal varnish lines (varnish cracks)
• Top right and left "wings" of the headstock are chipped

Peghead Back:

• Slight edge-wear on the top
• Couple of small 2mm dings towards the top
• Machine heads have hairline cracks (original tuners as far as I can tell)

Neck Front:

• Minor signs of fretboard wear; minimally played though
• Slight yellowing of side binding

Neck Back:

• Slight varnish wear along the apex of the neck through playing
• Couple of small dings near the neckstrack button and one near top of the neck (base of headstock)

Body Front:

• Varnish checking
• 10 or so small dings (around 1 mm each) mostly around the edge binding.

Body Back:

• Varnish checking.
• Few small dings and scratches; not deep or very visible.

Side:

• Variety of small dings and scratches; dings mainly on binding.
